A little about me

Hello and welcome. I can assure you that I do exist. My name is Aslin Kirkpatrick. I am famously known as Madz but have been known by many as “Mazzer”, “Mazzie”, “Mazerino”, and my favourite, “Madcatz” which btw was a cool nick courtesy of my dear friend Tom and Ashley.

I am currently a student at McMaster University, a lifelong dream of mine. Scheduled to graduate in 2010 with Bachelor Honours in Multimedia. The best part about being in school later in life is; I know exactly what I want to do or at least which direction I want to go.

Interest

My interest lies mostly in courseware development through interactive multimedia, which is what got me here in the first place. My other interests are:

1. Methodologies and processes for designing interfaces specifically for educational software.
2. The relation between pedagogy and computing.
3. Research on the impact of technology on people, organization and how it affects our societal value.
4. The loss and gain on new technology as a learning tool.

This website is the place where I try to gather my thoughts as well as document my journey as a student and as an individual. I write a variety of topic ranging from some obnoxious/useless TAs to how cool it was to learn Final Cut Pro. Of course, there are some random thoughts within which I can’t help but put it down in writing. While you are here, why don't take a look around?

Have a read and please comment and let me know what you think. Criticism are most welcome.
